My name is Brandon Wetzler and I have 7 years experience as a therapist and I provide counseling for those who share the Judeo-Christian value system. My approach is centered in the understanding of God's love, compassion and desire to complete the good work he has started in all of us. I've been following Jesus for over 30 years. I'm not about Bible-bashing or quoting Scripture you already know ("Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.") with the belief you should just be able to do it because it's in the Bible - if you *really* love God. But instead I show my clients how they can live out what God and the Bible have to say about their life and relationships in realistic ways that you can actually do. My clients learn to personally experience the love, grace, mercy, gentleness, self-control, kindness, compassion, peace, and forgiveness, the Bible promises - and how to offer these experiences in their relationships with others.

As a Christian who is also a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I chose to receive my undergraduate and graduate degree from a Christian university. I did this because I believe that God has designed all of the proven therapeutic priniciples and truly wants to help hurting people. This training has helped me to utilize a Christian World View to solve psychological problems. As most of my clients are Christians, I pray for them before each session and with them if they desire.

For many of us, our relationship with God is a primary part of our lives. During difficult times, God is an anchor and a comfort for some. For others, even if we have a relationship with God, He may seem distant or withholding. No matter where you are in this process, your faith story matters. God desires for us to be in relationship with others...and he knows the deep pain of broken relationships. Knowing that you will not be judged for your thoughts or actions, and having a counselor who supports your faith can lead to a deep emotional and spiritual healing.

While most Christian Counselors pride themselves on how many Scriptural passages they can recite and how many links they can make from the Bible to psychological disorders, the Christian-centric work of Grey Matters International, Inc.is grounded in one principle: truth. For us, the work is more about truth and transparency of Christ's message and working on the natural laws of accountability and decision making that evolves from that. I do not specialize in treating Christian clients, however I do work with Christians whose background in line with teachings of tolerance. I deal with Christians who are struggling with sexual and/or gender identity issues. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore one's beliefs in God, the church, and their sexual identity or gender identity. I am have worked with these issues for over 25 years and identity issues are a specialty of mine. I am also a specialist and certified expert in the treatment of childhood abuse, trauma, sexual abuse and sexual trauma of males and females. I offer both individual and group therapy along with a variety of different approaches. I CAN HELP!

My doctoral studies at Biola University, working at various Christian counseling centers, and teaching at Christian universities have combined to help me understand and appreciate how psychology and theology are intimately connected. Often times our experience of God is intertwined with our experience of others, and both need to be explored and understood simultaneously. Even if your current struggles seem unrelated to your relationship with God, you may still seek a place where your faith is an integral part of your healing. I have extensive experience counseling those with psychological and/or spiritual concerns, so my clients do not have to sacrifice or ignore any part of themselves.
