In my work with couples, I take non high conflict couples who want to better communicate and heal attachment wounds. In my work with kids I like to involve their system (parent/parents/family) to promote support and bonding.

I work with couples to repair and rebuild their relationships. My goal is to help couples find a deeper understanding of one another and create a more meaningful relationship where more effective communication and healing can occur.

I am trained & certified in Trauma Resiliency Module, TF-CBT, Brainspotting, loss/grief, Domestic Violence and IFS informed. All services are done via telehealth at this time.

Couples, Families and Relationships; I have 30+ years conducting family and couples counseling, 7 of those utilizing Psychotherapy evidenced-based methods, including the Gottman Research Based Approach and Hold me Tight, Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Dr. Brainerd has a special interest in relationship therapy. He is a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, has a special website for couples and therapists and will soon have a unique "Relationship Help APP" so couples can have access to important skills 24/7.
