When working with depression, I use a combination of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), talk therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) when working with adults and teens and play therapy when working with children. If there is a clinical depression diagnosis, Neurofeedback or consulting a doctor about medication options may also be recommended as a part of the treatment process.

Rather than viewing depression as a personal failure or flaw, we explore it as something external that has its own story and impact on your life. Together, we’ll examine how depression has shaped your experiences, but also uncover the skills, values, and beliefs that resist its influence. This approach allows us to collaboratively strengthen your preferred identity and reconnect with meaningful aspects of your life, creating openings for hope and agency.

Lisa Taylor provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space for clients experiencing depression, helping them feel heard, understood, and empowered. Using a combination of cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, and somatic approaches, she works collaboratively to explore the root causes of depression, increase emotional awareness, and develop healthy coping strategies. Lisa also incorporates mindfulness and creative expression to support self-discovery and healing, helping clients reconnect with their strengths, restore balance, and build a more hopeful, meaningful path forward.
