When working with grief and loss, I use talk therapy, narrative therapy and EMDR to help people process their hurts and be able to move forward. I start with resourcing so that people can develop coping skills and stability before diving into their grief and trauma. Grief and loss differ in children and teens as opposed to adults. Children and teens experience numerous losses due to the transitions of every day life circumstance and developmental stages. For example; they have different teachers and classmates every year, they may not be able to play a sport they once loved , their environment may be changing due to separation or divorce and finally the death of a loved one. Children and teens need guidance, support, love and the tools to cope with a loss.
