Whatever your religious beliefs, your spirituality, your faith, your cultural and family background, we believe that everyone has difficulty with it at times throughout their lives. Sometimes we need someone to be able to talk with about these things that aren't directly connected to our family, or our spiritual dwellings. Sometimes we just need someone unbiased, or someone that believes similar things that we do, because it can be lonely wrestling with our spirituality. I would describe myself as a Christian who does counselling. The reason why I have found this description helpful is that is not based on the fact that I have grown up in church, and have been a Christian since I was 11 years old. Instead, I find this description is helpful as clients who are Christians have sought me out, as they know I will understand many church based difficulties of which they have experienced. I have seen pastor’s wives, church leadership, and their members because of this. However, there also is the understanding that those who are not Christian also are welcome to see me, that I am readily available to listen to them, too.
