As a Bible following Christian who was raised in a Christian family, I have my foundations based on the Biblical teachings. The world is becoming a difficult place to live and understand by the day, let alone raising children (if you do!). Being Christians does not stop you from having those doubts or thoughts that could be frowned upon in a church or family set up, if you have them- IT IS OK, therapy with me can be a safe space to process them and even finding some answers together without judgement. Christian counseling combines therapeutic techniques with Christian principles and values. Our Christian therapist provides a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their faith and its impact on their mental and emotional well-being. Christian counseling can help individuals find comfort, guidance and strength through their relationship with God. A holistic approach is used that addresses psychological, emotional, and spiritual concerns. Support, encouragement, and biblical wisdom will be provided to help individuals navigate life's challenges and find healing and growth.

Within a Biblical framework, counselling becomes an even richer process. A Biblical base simply means that the therapist believes that all human beings were created in the image of God, intended for relationship and designed with the capacity for growth and change. Forgiveness, personal empowerment, learning to love self and other are critical parts of the process. Jesus said "I came to heal the broken hearted" and at some point, most of us would love to sink into that compassionate offer. Biblical based counselling does not infer any judgement or inflexibility within the therapeutic process.

I hold a Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I also spent over 20 years involved in various Christian Leadership roles. I do not practice or hold to this religion any longer. In my clinical work, I work with clients who are processing spiritual abuse/trauma and I regularly work with clients who are navigating deconstruction. I believe it is important to clarify, I am affirming and fully accepting of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I consider myself an ally to this community. In my clinical work, I consider it an honour to work with members of this community who have been wounded by the Christian Church.
