Therapists at Arukah Counselling want to help families to understand each other in a greater manner, learn to work through issues and situations that cause conflict or misunderstanding and learn to support each other in a way that is worthwhile and productive. Therapists will provide psychoeducation that can promote better communication, conflict resolution, healing and forgiveness.

My background in relational therapy allows me to understand individuals through the relationships they cohabit. Families come in various forms and sizes, and at times, navigating through these relational dynamics and understanding differing perspectives may be difficult. Throughout our time together, we will work to make each member’s voice heard, find ways of communication that feel helpful, and establish and restore connection. We often learn to tolerate our family members’ behaviour and have difficulty speaking up or expressing how their behaviour impacts us. In my sessions with families, I encourage open, honest communication and ensure that each individual feels validated and gets equal time to be heard.
