Family Therapy is done from a holistic systems perspective. We examine the challenges you experience as a family, the dynamics of communication, the age of the children involved, and the relationship issues between the members in the family unit. This requires everyone to be open, honest, and reflective, and to be willing to try new ideas. Supportive resources are also provided to enhance the counseling work done in this practice.

Working with the whole family is a very powerful and effective therapy method. When family dynamics feel tense and tangled caused by events such as a child running away from home, addition of a new family member, issues between parents, teenager growing pains, etc, my therapy can find practical and health skills to reestablish these relationships. Together we will work through communication issues, the needs and the unspoken expectations of family members. A strong and healthy family system can be facilitated through a trustful therapeutic relationship we build together.

Family Therapy can be one of the most dynamic ways to engage healing - sometimes in unexpected ways. In Family Therapy, each member of the family has the opportunity to learn about the (usually unspoken) rules governing how the family operates, and specifically how they have fit into, or chafed against the family rules and systems. In some cases, the family will encounter how a family member has been identified as the main problem. They will also learn how their relationships within the family are connected to what has been covertly and overtly passed on from generations before them.
