Emma is a registered psychologist with a graduate degree in Marital & Family Therapy.  She has nearly 20 years experience working in multiple settings, including community agencies, mental health clinics, academic clinic settings, and private practice.  Her experience includes working with all ages on a variety of presenting concerns from psycho-social issues to mental health issues.  She offers individuals (18 years and older), couples, and families supportive and confidential counselling in a safe environment so that people feel free to explore their concerns and resolve them.
Emma believes that everyone's situation is unique and sees the importance of exploring all areas of one's life (e.g. interpersonal relationships, culture, work) to better understand issues.  Her approach with clients is collaborative and respectful in nature and draws upon people's strengths.  She uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, emotional focused couples therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies.  In couples and family therapy, Emma focuses on identifying problematic patterns and co-creating solutions to healthier dynamics that enhance relationships while meeting individual's needs.  Her approach allows people to develop more balance and awareness which can bring forth personal growth, change, and meaning to life.
