Anger is a result of a sequence of events, thoughts, and feelings. You feel it in your body. You experience in your mind and the emotions are ever intense. You CAN feel more in control and at peace. We help you identify why you get angry and we walk you though a sequence of exercises designed to give you back control over your feelings and reactions.

My style of anger management may differ from the typical options. I focus on safe emotional release work called Psychodramatic Bodywork where the client and environment are safe and not at risk of injury/damage. Using floor and vertical mats, clients are supported to release feelings to then be able to access the root causes of their rage/fear/sadness/'anger management' struggles. Emotional release work is extremely transformational, and helps people release the adrenaline stored in their bodies that block mindfulness, clarity and authentic emotional expression. I look forward to explaining this process further during the free meet and greet sessions.

Feelings of anger can sometimes be more accessible and available to us in moments of hurt, disappointment or frustration. At times anger can be triggered by an event or situation and invite you to say or do things that do not align with your preferred way of being. In our work together, we can explore the origins of anger, how it impacts and influences you and how you might want to be in a relationship with anger moving forward. Book a free consultation to explore if we are a good fit.

Anger is just one of the many emotions we all experience. If anger is a problem for you, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) can help manage this difficult emotion and the physiological arousal that accompanies it. Anger management can help you recognize and manage triggers and learn to cope more effectively.

Anger can be a powerful force for change in our lives - it can give us the energy to move from situations that might be unhealthy or unsafe. However, when anger becomes difficult to control, or when t begins to hurt the people we love, it is no longer helpful. I provide a safe place to explore what anger is, how it affects us, how it can be helpful, and when it has become detrimental to either yourself or those you loves, and to work with you to find ways to manage that anger in healthy ways.

Anger, frustration, rage, and reactivity overall, can make a person feel frustrated and powerless; when we have emotional outbursts of any kind they can feel so all-encompassing and make us feel like we are not in control of feelings, thoughts, and behaviours. In working with clients on their emotions I aim to primarily promote an understanding of why our emotional outbursts occur; once this has been established we begin to work on how to manage, mitigate, or change how these outbursts occur, or why we feel the way that we feel in the first place.

There are 3 phases in working with Anger 1.Prevention- Attempts to forestall the very onset of anger. 2. Intervention- Aims to reduce the intensity or the duration of anger that has already ignited. 3. Postvention- Aims to discharge any residual anger. Emotions are regulated by re-experiencing, releasing, or converting them into a safe form. We will not only focus on your cognitions and behaviors as entry points but also focus on the modification of affect (your emotions). Anger is an emotion. To have no room in therapy for the feeling component of this emotion is to deny its very essence, your existence. Gestalt perspective- Expression of anger can be very productive. Let out!

Anger is something that gets the best of all of us at one point or another. And sometimes it feels so heavy that we learn to react on it instantaneously, which may hurt ourselves or others around us. My goals are to help you to manage your anger reaction by learning how to channel it through positive and productive endeavors, as well as to explore the history of your feelings of anger to learn where they began. Our work will not only change your anger reactions, but will also aid in decreasing the anger feeling itself.
