My approach to career counselling and planning is taken from the now famous resource Designing Your Life. We apply Design Thinking to reframe obstacles to opportunities in creative ways that may be impossible to imagine now. Then we design plans to give you the inspiration and practical experiences that prove what career decision will bring you the greatest happiness, fulfillment, and reward.

I truly believe that choosing one single career path can be one of the more difficult decisions we have to make in life. At times it may feel like there is immense societal and cultural pressure to choose a specific career path, but at the end of the day, I am curious to explore what it is you value, free from outside judgements. Different people prioritize different factors when choosing a career, and it is important for me to help identify what your priorities are. From there we can brainstorm potential avenues and build motivation to help bring those thoughts into reality. It is often action that creates motivation, not the other way around.

Having worked in the finance industry for many years, I help clients remove their blocks, create clarity and help with work towards their career(dream job). My treatment involves having the client work on: financial plan that includes their goals. We go through obstacles and mental blocks; and their fears of success. Clients feel motivated, they learn how to build resources, change their negative beliefs to positive, and learn new skills to communicate effective.

We spend up to 1/3 of our life in our careers!! As a former Human Resources Manager this is an area that is really exciting. Not only will I help you identify your skill set, but help you identify your passion, your purpose and your personality type that will help you see what career is best suited to you. I can also help you identify and develop areas that will help you expand your interviewing skills, your social media profile, your resume and your confidence and also understand the hiring climate that you are in.

Helping clients explore their interests, their likes, wishes and dreams will open the door for a co-creative process of finding one's talents, growing them and applying them in practice.

Our career can play a huge role in our life as we devote a large amount of our time and energy to it and often seek a sense of purpose and fulfillment. I have personally made a number of scary career transitions while working to fulfill my potential and find joy in what I do and these scary changes that often included working through paralyzing fear and having to get quite creative made me very passionate about supporting others on a similar quest to find more fulfillment in your work and daily life.

Our skilled counselors utilize this technique to facilitate conversations that empower clients to identify their personal values, goals, and motivations. I thoroughly enjoy working with young adult clients on assisting them in beginning their career journey. I also work with adult clients who are in the beginning stages of making career changes including going back to school. I know how scary "change" can be especially when it has financial implications. Career Counselling with me begins with developing rapport and relationships. We move at a pace you are comfortable with and examine the variables involved in decision-making. I support clients throughout the change process.
