When clients specifically request our counselling sessions to have a Christian focus I am able to integrate scriptual teaching & Christian counselling research within the broader field of psychotherapy assessment & treatment. When I take a Christian approach I find that therapy works towards alleviating psychological stressors while helping people to appropriate a deeper understanding & appreciation of the grace of God.

Many churches have caused great harm to their LGBTQ members through fear and shame based ideology, rejection, and abusive practices, such as conversion therapy. So... where do we go from here? Your spiritual journey is your own. Whether you work on deconstructing or interrogating or re-imagining your faith, I am here to support you. I work from a fully LGBTQ-affirming perspective to help queer Christians integrate faith and queer identity, normalize doubt, process religious trauma, and find a sense of belonging. There's nothing wrong with you. You are whole and holy, just as you are.

As a Christian, it is actually impossible for me to relate to my clients in an authentic way if I deviate from my worldview. In a place of love we are not afraid, there is acceptance in the presence of Christ and therein the freedom and safety to change. Current research into key factors of therapeutic healing points to "attachment:" Defined, this term matches the Biblical description of Love. Christ's Love is strong, restorative, clarifying and empowering. As we address the challenges and issues that are part of our earthly walk the love of Christ is here - present, strong and safe. In counselling we will prayerfully seek support in addressing relational and individual concerns

Angela is an experienced therapist who provides a Christian counselling perspective to explore a variety of issues that may be affecting you, your marriage or your family. Her training and experience support individuals with a wide variety of issues related to grief & loss, marital discord, family violence/conflict, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, parent-child relationships, life transitions, addictions, anger management and self-care. She offers a variety of creative modalities such as art & play therapy as well as traditional verbal therapy. Angela is listed on Focus on the Family's Counselling Network of Referral Counsellors.

As a Christian, my practice reflects that. My formal training was at a Christian University. Not all my clients are Christian, which is fine and something I respect. However, for those clients who are Christians, I will integrate prayer, Scripture, and Biblical principles and values into my counselling. Scripture, God's truths, give a road map into life's challenges. I believe the Holy Spirit guides me and gives me wisdom as I work with my clients as well. God loves you and wants you to live a life of healing and freedom.
