The Greater Vancouver region is the third-largest film and television production centre after New York and Los Angeles.  Numerous high-profile shows have featured Tsawwassen, some of which have been:  Shoot to Kill, DaVinci’s Inquest, The X-Files and Smallville.  In 2002 ‘Insomnia’ had scenes in the lodge where Al Pacino was sleeping and today this location is home of Century Holdings, a real estate agency.  Ducks, snow geese and trumpeter swans winter at the Migratory Reifel Bird Sanctuary which is one of Canada’s top bird-watching sites.  The Sanctuary is situated in Delta near Ladner.  Marriage counselling in Tsawwassen is a way to bring marriages on the brink back together.   In 1927 George Reifel bought property which he created into a recreational family retreat in this location.  Waterfowl habitats were created by construction of causeways and dykes with equipment and building materials that were barged in. Reifel.  With the ownership change the farm site became the Alaksen National Wildlife Area and the balance of the area was designated the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary.
