I have worked extensively in career counseling; having provided training and education to college campuses for 10+ years. What I have often encountered is blocks in decision making patterns, which leads to struggles in people finding their niche or correct direction to take as it relates to their career choices. Each individual encompasses a different set of assets that I can help to untangle the impasses they may have to choose an effective career path. We do this together by researching each person's strengths that will allow them to make decisions based on these findings, as well as environmental influences, i.e., marketing approaches, resume writing, and what will success strategies.

I help clients with addictive behaviours or substance use that is interfering with their ability to achieve a fulfilling career. Through collaborative conversations, clients gain a sense of purpose and direction, overcoming barriers to making meaningful progress in their professional life. With over 30 years of experience in Finance, Marketing, IT, Manufacturing, Operations and Management, I offer a practical approach to career counseling. Focusing on skills versus deficiencies has always proven to be successful and strengthening a "can do" attitude increases ones's worth in the marketplace. A large component of career choice is how we view ourselves and what we feel we can accomplish. So there's a big element of identity in there. I use Positive Psychology tools to assess the individual's strengths of character and what they view as important tools for success that they already have in their arsenal. From that perspective, we also look at those character strengths that could use a little further strengthening in order to best serve the individual reach their goals. Dreaming and imagining are big pieces of this process, so we also explore those in depth. I encourage realistic dreaming and identify fears and doubts that getting the way of dreaming and accomplishing dreams.
