Oftentimes, people seek out career counseling because they are finding that their current job is not making them happy. From a Christian perspective, finding the work or "mission" God has designed you for is often called "finding your purpose" which we believe is the key to happiness in your work. In my work with Christians I strive to help people to find this purpose in their lives.

Who benefits from career counselling? You might be a student looking for direction or a person considering a career change. You may also be looking to delve deep and assess your talents, skills, interests, personality or learning style. Learning more about who you are and how you want to spend the next decades of your life are all considerations in career counselling. Assessment tools can be very helpful in making informed career choices and developing a personalized career path but are best utilized along with an experienced counsellor. Psychotherapeutic tools such as EFT and Mindfulness Based approaches can provide depths of understanding one's self.

But the reality is that many people find themselves in careers they don't enjoy or lose the career they did enjoy. I support individual clients experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, and mental and emotional exhaustion. I often work with Highly Sensitive People, or empaths, who are more susceptible to these experiences. I support those in helping professions like teachers, therapists, parents, medical professionals, and difficult work environments create their boundaries in their workspace for personal well-being.

I have a specific degree (Masters Degree MA) in career and academic counseling. I have worked with undergraduate and graduate students on many college campuses over the years teaching and counseling in the area of career and work related topics. I have assisted in Womens Reentry, job placement, resume writing, interview techniques, and have taught and assisted clients to discover their true potential. What DO you want to be when you grow up--I have helped clients (ages 15-55) who struggle with this question. I also have a degree and am a licensed Marriage and Family Pschotherapist--often career issues affect our relationships, self esteem, and other personal areas as well.
