I work from an attachment based perspective and hold the beliefs that we are products of our upbringing and relationships. I believe we are shaped through our experiences and this plays a vital role in how we operate in relationships in the present as well as the vision we hold for our future. Each person is unique in their story and their personality and experience combine provides a unique formation of their present. I work within the context of animal-assisted psychotherapy to work with attachment, bonding, and acceptance and love.

In my work as a psychotherapist, I blend coaching and energy work (which includes: EFT or tapping, matrix reimprinting, energy psychology, PSYCH-K, and muscle testing) to help my clients achieve their unique dreams, goals, and desires. In order to for my clients to become the best version of themselves, they first need to get out of their own way and clear anything that is blocking them or preventing them from moving forward in their lives. Blocks can appear consciously and subconsciously as limiting thoughts and beliefs, disempowering feelings, procrastination and self-sabotage, or as a combination of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

The foundation of my approach is systemic, which means I emphasize assessment of how you are impacted by the world as well as how you impact the world. Often clients underestimate the gravity of one or both of these areas despite their importances. In understanding how we are impacted by the world around us, we come to understand that we are not quite as unique or "crazy" as we imagined, and we begin to realize that the vast majority of our responses are quite normal, even if no longer effective. In addition, by understanding our impact on the world around us, we begin to realize that we might have more influence over situations than we think, if we open ourselves to different ways of being

Collaboration is key with my clients. My style could be described as relaxed, directive, with a side of humor. My top priority is that you feel heard, seen, and supported in your healing process. My psychotherapy methodology is cognitive-behavioral. This means that as your therapist, if needed, I will help you to see any negative thinking patterns that may have developed in your life. Then together we will work on changing any behavioral or thinking patterns so that you can deal with life issues more effectively. This can be especially helpful if you are struggling with anxiety or depression. I provide convenient office hours Monday through Thursday and Saturdays; located near Hampden and Wadsworth.

I approach psychotherapy with my clients by inviting them to process past pain and present hurts. It is my belief that if given a safe and nonjudgemental space, people will be able to find a greater sense of understanding and peace despite their circumstances. I don’t do “sit-and-nod” therapy. My style is active, relational, and grounded in neuroscience and somatic awareness. I uncover how your mind and body learned to adapt to pain and help those patterns release their grip. Therapy with me is an exploration of your story; not just what happened, but how your mind and body learned to carry it. Using mindfulness, somatic awareness, and relational depth, I trace patterns that once protected you but now limit you. Psychotherapy has numerous approaches but its root is communication between the client and the therapist. When communicating with children and teens, I get down to their level and speak their language which builds a trusting , safe and non- judgmental environment. My approaches varies depending on the need of the child /teen and where they are developmental. I have found working with children and teens many of them have some of the same issues.
