I don’t do “sit-and-nod” therapy. My style is active, relational, and grounded in neuroscience and somatic awareness. I uncover how your mind and body learned to adapt to pain and help those patterns release their grip. Therapy with me is an exploration of your story; not just what happened, but how your mind and body learned to carry it. Using mindfulness, somatic awareness, and relational depth, I trace patterns that once protected you but now limit you. This is an active, collaborative process where insight meets embodiment, and where real change feels lived rather than intellectualized.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, caring well for my clients is my chief aim. I have been trained, and continue to seek regular training, that helps me help you! I pride myself on always learning and growing as a therapist because I want anyone I work with to find the healing and growth they seek! In my practice, I draw from attachment-science, neuroscience, and leading evidenced-based modalities to help you achieve your goals as effectively as possible.

My psychotherapy methodology is cognitive-behavioral. This means that as your therapist, if needed, I will help you to see any negative thinking patterns that may have developed in your life. Then together we will work on changing any behavioral or thinking patterns so that you can deal with life issues more effectively. This can be especially helpful if you are struggling with anxiety or depression. I provide convenient office hours Monday through Thursday and Saturdays; located near Hampden and Wadsworth.

I work from an attachment based perspective and hold the beliefs that we are products of our upbringing and relationships. I believe we are shaped through our experiences and this plays a vital role in how we operate in relationships in the present as well as the vision we hold for our future. Each person is unique in their story and their personality and experience combine provides a unique formation of their present. I work within the context of animal-assisted psychotherapy to work with attachment, bonding, and acceptance and love.

Psychotherapy has numerous approaches but its root is communication between the client and the therapist. When communicating with children and teens, I get down to their level and speak their language which builds a trusting , safe and non- judgmental environment. My approaches varies depending on the need of the child /teen and where they are developmental. I have found working with children and teens many of them have some of the same issues. Some problems that have helped children and teens reduce or eliminate are; * low self esteem * choosing healthy friendships * aggressive behaviors * problem solving difficult situations * building better relationships with parents /caregivers

I approach my work with clients from a very strengths based approach - drawing on these STRENGTHS of each of my clients to facilitate change.
