In contrast, my approach is to go to the root causes of addiction, so that you can disarm your triggers completely. Addiction is often driven by pain and self-defeating beliefs. Over the years, we've learned to run away from our pain by engaging in behaviours that temporarily change how we feel, but leave us feeling shamed and defeated.
