Hope Centered Counselling has a lot of experience working with Anxiety and Depression. We know that often holding space is all someone can handle on a bad day. The darkness sometimes just feels like too much. We know that asking our clients to make big changes in their life to get better just doesn’t cut it. Baby steps are necessary to start the journey to recovery together. We know its hard and some days there’s nothing in the tank, but we really do care about what you are going through and have the capacity to hold space for you through the journey until you turn a corner. We work with children, teens and adults dealing with depression. There may be many underlying dynamics for people coping with depressive symptoms including an unprocessed loss from the past, or difficulties processing emotions, including anger. We use a combination of approaches to support clients including CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), a psychodynamic approach, and IFS (internal family systems). We often incorporate creative approaches into our work with children and teens, including play, art and music therapy.
