Grief and loss touch many parts of our lives. While we often associate grief with the death of a loved one, but it can also arise after the loss of a marriage, a job, a dream, or a relationship you had deeply hoped for. Grief can feel like a rogue wave, knocking you off balance when you least expect it — or like a dull ache that quietly lingers. However it shows up for you, Alison offers a safe, compassionate space to explore your feelings, relationships, and experiences. Together, you’ll work toward clarity, stability, and renewed strength — finding your footing again and supporting your overall mental wellness. You do not have to walk this journey alone.

We grieve because we experience a loss. Grief and loss can come from many life events including death, loss of a relationship, job, or perhaps the loss of a dream or hope that you had. What I do know is that it affects each of us differently and presents itself in unique ways. No one else can truly understand what you are going through. My approach is to meet you where you are at in an empathetic, compassionate, and supportive space to enable you to walk through your journey.

I have offered Grief and Loss workshops over the past two years and focus on normalizing the different experiences of grief. This includes feelings of isolation, secondary losses (for example, family and friends that were also lost as part of the original loss), physical symptoms (such as exhaustion and pain), self-blame, denial and a change to identity. We debunk the 'stages of grief' and recognize that we might go through each of these stages in a day alone, and that we may be surprised when grief returns to us in a new and surprising way when we thought we had in fact 'moved on'. We will also explore meaning and purpose, and the difficulty of being 'where we are' emotionally.
