I have worked in outpatient psychiatry, family counselling centres, community work, addictions treatment and clinical counselling services in the community and in private practice. I have facilitated group programs for depression, anxiety, addictions and parenting.
I started early in my career as a Child and Youth Worker (CYW), helping children and teens with emotional and behavioural problems as well as parents facing challenging behavior from their children to better manage. I went on to get a Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) from Ryerson University and a Masters of Social Work degree (MSW) from the University of Toronto specializing in clinical counselling with individuals, couples and groups.
I use a wide variety of treatment approaches, most often drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapies. However, I use a combination of approaches to best suit the client, their needs and situation. I also have had personal experience with mental health issues which has increased my compassion and effectiveness in my professional work and I have consistently received positive feedback from my clients regarding the help and support I have offered helping to create positive change in their lives. I provide confidential counselling in a comfortable, warm and inviting space.
