Sherri is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (#3580). She holds a Bachelor degree from Simon Fraser University, a Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Mediation from the Justice Institute of BC and an MA from the Adler University of Professional Psychology. She draws on 25 years of experience working in the field of conflict resolution to inform her work as a therapist. In addition to her work as a Registered Clinical Counsellor Sherri is currently an instructor and coach at the Justice Institute of B.C. in the Centre for Conflict Resolution and the Justice and Public Safety Division.
Sherri brings a unique blend of experience and skill to the individuals, couples and groups with whom she works as a counsellor, facilitator, educator and coach. She believes it takes courage to seek counselling and thus she is committed to work with her clients in a non-judgemental and goal focussed way.
Working with people who are struggling to make a change in their lives is an area where Sherri thrives as she works hard to discover what motivates each individual. She loves seeing the spark in someone's eye when they realize something new about themselves or when they begin to look at something from a different angle.

Is anxiety running your life? Sherri sees many clients who are frustrated with anxiety negatively impacting their lives. If your life is being hijacked by anxiety Sherri knows strategies that will allow you to take charge of your thoughts, your life and your happiness. Sherri works with the 'danger anxiety' such as: ocd, panic and health anxiety as well as 'coping anxiety' such as: generalized anxiety, specific phobias and social anxiety. Do you have career confusion? If you are hoping for career clarity or career transitions goals Sherri can help you clarify your future career prospects including an assessment questionnaire called the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Sherri takes a 'design your life' approach to career counselling including determining the elements that need to be in place for any career you pursue. Are you feeling bad about yourself? Some people struggle with endless negative thoughts about themselves that lower their self confidence and self esteem. Sherri will help you see yourself in a more realistic light with support and encouragement. Is your relationship unfulfilling? Sherri has met with couples who have relationships that are at the beginning stages of conflict or in complete distress or somewhere in between. Regardless, she has helped many conflicted couples see their relationships in a new light. Learning practical and realistic ways to communicate and understand your partner better and vice versa are the direct benefits to couples counselling.
Having anxious thoughts, an unfulfilling career, low self esteem or conflicted relationships are very common yet stressful life experiences. Sherri's focus in counselling is to assist you in identifying goals so you can work through your challenges in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Sherri also works with clients who are struggling with: grief, stress management, depression, setting healthy boundaries, self worth and major life transitions.
Do you feel unfocussed? Sherri meets with clients all the time who would like help setting goals in their work or personal life. Some of her clients prefer a coaching approach to meeting their goals and Sherri has the ability to work as a coach by being strategic about setting and meeting work/life goals.
Sherri provides services for clients in the Tsawwassen/South Delta area and she is also an e-counsellor and provides counselling via the internet or phone for clients anywhere in the world. She has been married for 22 years and has three children. She enjoys running, paddle boarding, hiking and travelling and is a lifelong learner.
