Since its founding in 1986, the National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS), has had the mandate to support full access to education and employment for post-secondary students and graduates with disabilities across Canada.
NEADS is a consumer-controlled, cross-disability charitable organization (corporation # 1007761975RR0001). We represent our constituents through specific projects, resources, research, publications and partnerships. NEADS is governed by a national Board of Directors representative of all of the provinces and territories.
Our work as an organization focuses on three core Strategic Program areas:
Student debt reduction
Student experience in class and on campus
Student and graduate employment
The organization functions collaboratively with post-secondary stakeholders, other non-governmental organizations, employers, disability service providers (on college and university campuses) and communities that can improve opportunities in higher education and the labour market for persons with disabilities in Canada. NEADS also provides ongoing expert advice to Employment and Social Development Canada and provincial/territorial governments. We have been a stakeholder group of the Government of Canada's National Advisory Group on Student Financial Assistance -- Chaired by the Director General of the Canada Student Loans Program -- since 1987. Our work includes promoting government programs and services that support higher education for Canadians with disabilities. Project Sweet Peas is a national non-profit organization providing support to families of premature or sick infants and to those who have been affected by pregnancy and infant loss. Care packages, hospital events, peer-to-peer support, financial aid, educational materials, and other Project Sweet Peas services, support the cultural, spiritual, emotional, and financial needs of families as they endure life in the NICU.

Families for Addiction Recovery (FAR) is a Canadian charity founded by parents of children who have struggled with addiction from their teens. Our goal is long term recovery for those with addiction and their families.
FAR offers free and confidential parent-to-parent support for families struggling with addiction in Canada. We are a voice for families to influence government policy. We educate law enforcement, the medical profession and community groups about addiction, health laws and drug policies.

The PA Tourette Syndrome Alliance is a non-profit organization that promotes awareness and acceptance, provides education, and assists families, schools and communities while advocating for individuals with TS. The services provided by PA-TSA are focused on increasing understanding of the disorder and providing proven accommodations and strategies so a child or adult diagnosed with TS can succeed. Tourette Syndrome can be a very complex disorder and many people do not have a full understanding of these complexities. PA-TSA's programs and services include providing information, education, support and disability advocacy. They strive to promote understanding of Tourette Syndrome in order to promote acceptance of those diagnosed!

Faith’s Lodge supports parents and families coping with the death of medically complex condition of a child in a peaceful environment to reflect on the past, renew strength for the present, and build hope for the future. They help families through their darkest hours by creating a nurturing setting together with other parents who are coping with the same struggles. Set apart from daily life and surrounded by the calming North woods of Wisconsin, families at Faith’s Lodge are supported in an emotionally safe environment. The lodge accommodates up to eight families at a time and operates year-round serving either couples or families on designated dates. After 11 years, Faith’s Lodge is still the only dedicated retreat facility of its kind in the country. Faith’s Lodge has served over 9,000 people from 40 different states. Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the premier organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, face to face connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful. YSC provides information and resources for young women during every phase of treatment and survivorship through peer matching, conferences, and comprehensive Navigator guidebooks and an audio/video library. The Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling is here to support Real People and Real Recovery from gambling addiction that can devastate the lives of individuals, couples, families, and friends. It’s important to understand that most people can enjoy gambling for entertainment and recreation. For those who are affected by the serious addiction of gambling, the pain is real. The Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling (ECPG) is dedicated to increasing awareness of public health issues around problem gambling and gaming, expanding the availability and integration of services, and supporting advocacy, research, and programs for education, prevention, treatment, and responsible gambling and gambling. ECPG is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1991 and maintains a position of neutrality on gambling.
