I am a licensed clinical psychologist, trained to diagnosis and treat a variety of issues and mental illnesses. My graduate education was focused on family systems theory, and I utilize this lens to view you in the context of your interpersonal relationships and the environment around you. I have received extensive training in a variety of therapeutic frameworks and typically use an eclectic blend -- based on your unique needs and personality -- to address your concerns and personal goals.

As a psychologist, I strive to combine a comfortable and engaging therapeutic relationship with the most proven and effective therapy interventions and assessment tools. I work hard to develop an individualized and flexible plan that can be applied and adapted to a wide range of problems. Additionally, I provide comprehensive and individualized psychological evaluations that can be used for a variety of purposes, such as learning disability and ADHD evaluations, psychoeducational and psychosocial evaluations, and diagnostic clarification.

As well as my clinical work I am also a forensic psychologist. I am a Qualified Medical Evaluator for Workers' Compensation and provide disability evaluations for civil litigation and fitness-for-duty. In addition, I serve as a primary and secondary treat physician for some Workers' Compensation insurance panels.

A psychologist has the most extensive training in psychology of all the mental health professions. Some people with a Ph.D. are licensed as Marriage and Family Therapists (and I have that license as well) or as Social Workers, not psychologists. I became a psychologist to broaden my knowledge of the therapeutic process. My doctoral schooling exposed me to theories of personality and psychotherapy not covered in earlier training. This experience afforded me the opportunity to focus on therapies which are characterized by a close working relationship between client and therapist. I came to see that it is the relationship that heals and that by exploring interactions in the therapeutic relationship as well as looking at present day and historical feelings and thoughts, insight and clarity of mind result, enabling lasting change to be achieved.
