My goal is to offer a space for you to work through the grief process in however that needs to look for you. We will focus on exploring the loss in conjunction with understanding its impact on your functioning. We will exploring coping strategies to understand their role and function. We will focus on ensuring tools are in place for times when emotions are more challenging.

Although grief is normally thought of in terms of the death of a loved one, grieving is a common human experience that happens after many types of losses in life. Have you experienced the death of someone close to you, divorce, a friendship ending, or even a job loss, you may be experiencing sadness, regret, anger, and other complicated emotions that may be causing you to struggle. I can help you process through those thoughts and feelings a find a place of healing.

When we lose something or someone we value, big or small, we often do not know how to respond. Loss begins a life-altering journey that can be enraging, unpredictable, painful, laborious, exhausting, and isolating. There is no recovery manual that maps out time, effort or distance. Liz's empathetic approach provides the space needed to navigate and narrate unchartered territory, while respecting that healing is a process. She facilitates the unpacking of personal experiences and works collaboratively to design a living plan that honors the relationship with grief while also creating a new way of being that is authentic and unique.

I will create a safe space and take a non-jugemental, client centered approach to our counselling sessions. We will move at a pace within your comfort zone. I understand that grief and loss are very personal and individualized for each person. If trauma is present I will take a trauma informed appraoch to your care during our counselling sessions. I am also trained, educated and have personal experiences within grief & loss and that is why my compassion is exceptional.
