For those committed to Christ and to Christian living, it's sometimes important to do counselling with someone who shares your values. I have spent my life in the study and teaching of Scriptures, and am aware of the vast variety and riches available to us in our different Christian traditions. I welcome those from any of these traditions. Together we can use counselling insights and approaches, working within the framework of traditional and emerging Christian thought and practice, as we work on understanding and resolving the various issues and concerns you bring into counselling.

As a spiritual person and Minister, I work with those who are interested in exploring a non-denominational spiritual dimension to healing. Spiritual wellness is an important part of full mind and body wellness. Though some people might relate spirituality to religion, the truth is that it isn’t necessary to be religious to connect with your spiritual self. Spirituality can be defined in many ways, but a simple definition of spirituality is a sense of connection to something greater than the self.

My credentials include a BTh (Bachelor of Theology) and MDiv (Clinical Counselling) from Tyndale University and Seminary, as well as an internship at People's Church in Toronto, ON. As a Christian Counsellor, I offer Focusing which involves inner healing and a nonjudgmental walking alongside you in your journey. Having had experience with church abuse, I welcome those who have had negative spiritual experiences. If you have another spiritual worldview or no spiritual view, therapy will not include Christian counselling discussion. Share your spiritual worldview openly at our first session and your desires will be respected.

I am a licensed practitioner with the Church of Religious Science which is a Christian based, non denominational, church. The foundational doctrines in this church follow the truth of Jesus' teachings. A fundamental teaching of this perspective is that God is love, and as such, Jesus is the representation of God, or love, in human form. We all have the potential to be "Christ conscious" and just as Jesus said, we all are capable of doing even greater works than he (John 14:12). My work as a Christian counsellor is not as adherent to a particular religious dogma as most, but rather broader, less dogmatic, and more firmly seated in the actual teachings of Jesus.

Being both a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist and an Ordained Minister of 12 years, I respectfully integrate both psychological and Christian elements in my counselling. I am a Spiritual Director. Through my upbringing as a third generation Holocaust survivor I have learned through my family the strength of will and survival of Judaism. When people come to me they are looking for a larger presence in their lives. I am able to help others find faith and hope and reconnect to G-D. Something needs to shift in order to be able to reconnect. If it is darkness you see then I will guide you to the light. I will help guide you towards the wisdom you already have within you. I will help you find your passion again. When you know what you don't want, you will know what you want. I will sit with you for as long as it takes for you to create new hope and faith.

I provide psychotherapy, counselling, and mental health services that are grounded in my academic and experiential training. However, the foundation of my work is grounded in my faith. I firmly believe in a grand power/God that helps human beings to work for the healthy betterment of theirselves and of others. My Masters degrees are from Christian university and my program had a spiritual/pastoral component. This means I am able to talk about spirituality and how important it can be for healing and coping in your life. I am open-minded so I know this faith/belief takes many forms for many different people. We can start with chatting about how faith and spirituality has been for you.
