I am committed to making the counselling experience as comfortable as possible. I understand that ultimately counselling can be difficult and bring to light intense emotions. I strive to create a safe space where you can process these emotions in order to facilitate healing. As a counsellor I am committed to guiding you through a process that helps you to better manage your daily life. It is not just about feeling better during our time together, but being able to translate this to the rest of your life that truly marks success.
I specialize in treating:
  • Addiction
  • Coping with the addiction of a loved one
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress

Counselling can help you to:
  • Better understand addiction
  •  Learn techniques and tools to disengage from addiction
  • Keep yourself in recovery long term
  • Understand how to offer support to loved one's with addictive behaviours
  •  Define and communicate personal boundaries to loved ones with addictive behaviours
  • Disengage from enabling and move towards personal self care
  • Manage stress
  • Identify triggers for anxiety
  • Work through anxious patterns of thinking
  • Understand how to challenge and correct anxiety provoking thoughts
  • Understand the cycle of depression.
  • Identify and interrupt your personal cycle through depression.

I work within these therapeutic models:
  • Client Centered- I will work with you to define your goals in counselling. You have the right to participate in choosing your therapeutic course and determining the best treatment for you.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy- I work with you to understand the impact that thinking has on feelings and behaviour. Using this model of therapy we can identify unhelpful thinking patterns that are impacting your life and work to correct them.
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy- Learning to control your emotions (so that they do not control you!) is a very powerful therapeutic tool. Dialectical Behaviour therapy is often used to help people regulate their emotions and process them in a helpful manner.
