I graduated with a Bachelors of Social Work with a specialization in Child Welfare and Attachment from Thompson Rivers University and received my registration through the BC College of Social Workers. Through my formative education years I focused heavily on the family and the needs of each individual member at various stages of life. I value diversity and enjoy working with diverse populations. I also value the uniqueness of each individual and how that applies into therapy, creating a unique therapeutic experience for each client.
I have worked intensively with all members of families experiencing crisis both in the home and community. Specializing in a client centred and strengths-based approach I aim to provide clients with practical toolsand skills that they can use in their day-to-day life that will support them in progressing through whatever situation may be occurring at the time.

During each session a client can expect:
·To Feel Supported
·To Be Heard
·To Gain Self Awareness
·To Take Home Strategies
·To Set Realistic and Attainable Goals

Some of the specific topics that I will focus on include:
·Communication
·Positive Relationship Building
·Boundaries
·Goal Setting
·Emotional Regulation

My practice allows me to build relationships with clients where there is a high level of support and focus on strengths, allowing the client to develop the skills needed to manage whatever issues may be occurring. I believe that everyone has the ability to manage all types of situations; it just requires some support in finding our strengths and developing our tools to support ourselves in that process.

I have worked with Children and Adults experiencing some of the following challenges:
·Anxiety
·Depression
·Grief and Loss
·Attachment Disorders
·ADHD
·Mood Disorders
·Pre & Post Adoption Support
·Eating Disorders
·Suicidal Ideation
·Emotional Regulation

My counselling sessions can help a person to gain a new understanding about his or her problems and to acquire new ways of coping with and solving those problems. Counselling in general can help a person to develop new skills and to change behaviour patterns, as well as can contribute to an increased understanding of self and others.

I practice from a place of compassion, non-judgement, curiosity, and respect, and strive to facilitate each client’s innate capacity for positive growth and development. I truly believe that the relationship between therapist and client is the primary healing factor for individuals experiencing developmental, internal, and interpersonal challenges.

I look forward to meeting with all clients and supporting them through their individual and unique journey.
