Pamela Silsby, MA, LPC, NCC

Licensed Professional Counselor

100 Arapahoe Lane Suite 12, Boulder, CO 80302

Anxiety and Stess: I work with my clients to help them manage, reduce, and eliminate their stress and anxiety. EFT Tapping is one of the primary techniques that I use with my clients to help them with their stress and anxiety. I help them to find out what is underneath the stress and anxiety, often it is a hidden fear or limiting belief system. Tapping is one of the absolute best mind body clearing techniques for stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. It works incredibly well to rewire the subconscious mind and calm the body's nervous system. My clients have experienced profound results with EFT Tapping. The benefits include feeling more relaxed, present, happier, calmer, and more joyful.

Cristina Scatigno, Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

2737 Mapleton Ave Suite 101, Boulder, CO 80304

As an anxiety specialist, I will collaborate with you to help gain a deep understanding of your anxiety so that we can learn how it affects not only your mood, but also your thoughts and behaviors. Anxiety symptoms can be very tricky in how they get you to avoid certain places, people, or situations and in turn strengthen the anxiety and keep you feeling lonely and helpless. I will show you how to have different experiences so you can face your worries, rather than be controlled by them.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Middlefork Road, Boulder, CO 80302

Anxiety is about the future! "What if I.....?" "And what if she.....?" Think of it as stage fright. "They wont like me." et cetera. You torture yourself with low level probabilities about furute negative consequences to your actions. It can be immobilizing and very self-limiting. I can teach you to devleop the skills of mindfullness in daily life. When you live more fully in this moment, you are less caught up in the possible failures of the next moment. This may sound easy but it is not. It requires weeks of concerted practice to break free of the habit of thinking about what might happen next. But when you do, you open yourself up to a more peaceful existence.

Anxiety and stress are a part of everday life and effect all of us. The key is how you deal with your anxiety and stress. Many times the things we are most anxious about are things that we either have no control over or things that have gotten really big in our minds. Stress also has a variety of causes, both real and imagined. No matter what the issue is, I can help you put it into perspective by pointing out that which you have no control over, pulling the issue apart so you can understand what is your responsibility and using deep breathing methods to help calm you down. Reducing your level of stress and anxiety will make you happier and healthier.

Often clients are upset not only with the stressful situation. Of more concern usually is their reaction to such a situation, and of course if a person is in a fight with him/herself, then the outcome will be unsatisfactory no matter who wins. Frequently the system is drained of energy and nobody wins. Therapy provides an understanding of what is really going on under the surface, plus offers a variety of ways to restructure the system so that the external problem can be addressed. The problem itself may not be resolvable, but stress and anxiety do have solutions.
