Career Counselling is a process that may involve several sessions designed to accomplish the following: 1. Improved Self-awareness – by exploring your interests, values, skills and strengths, and personality, as they relate to career possibly through the use of targeted assessments. 2. Career research – is designed to help narrow down options. I will provide you with useful resources and have you complete information interviews with individuals doing the work. 3. Decision making and planning – Finalizing a decision and building out a transition plan (if required). I consider professional development and career growth as an important part of self-realization. A career requires a lot: motivation, hard work, knowledge, skills, persistence, and passion. On the other hand, it gives a feeling of well-functioning, a satisfaction that efforts have paid off, a sense of belonging to community, and the sense of being proud of your achievements. For almost 20 years I have been helping people to build their careers and accomplish more than they expected in the beginning of counselling. While I enjoyed my first career, it did not provide the level of personal satisfaction of my second!
