Dr. Strauss offers career counseling through New Leaf Psychology Centre. In order to facilitate decision making, sessions will first assess your current skills, assets and interests. Your level of fulfillment at your current place of work, and obstacles to fulfillment will also be discussed. Potential career changes will be reviewed, with the goal of helping you come to a decision that you are comfortable with.

I am passioante about supporting individuals in exploring their experience of burnout from hustle culture and managing the invisible mental load. I also help folks unpack and explore the impact that systems of oppression (patriarchy and capitalism) have had on one's identity, lived experiences and internalised messages of not enough. Together lets work to dismantle these systems of oppression.

My approach to career counseling is not about personality tests or resume tips. It’s about helping clients navigate the deeper questions that arise when work feels disconnected from identity, purpose, or vitality. Often, career distress signals a deeper misalignment — between the life one has built and the person one is becoming. Together, we explore how attachment patterns, self-worth, relational dynamics, and existential concerns shape how you show up in your professional life. This is not about finding the perfect job — it’s about restoring right relationship with meaning, agency, and the kind of work that supports who you are becoming.

I have been a guidance counsellor to youth for around 15 years. I can help you to explore your options though values work, finding your strengths and the things that you could strengthen more, and keep you grounded as you do so.
