Psychotherapy provides an opportunity for all facets of the self to come to light without being judged. For many, it is the first time they are able to put words to their feelings and begin to understand their patterns of feelings and behavior.
Bonnie Levy received her Master's in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles. She completed training at the Center For Individual and Family Counseling, Didi Hirsch's Suicide Prevention Center, Valley Community Counseling Clinic and Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies. She works with individuals and couples to improve overall functioning and increase their fulfillment with life. She is committed to helping individuals and couples build a greater understanding of their needs, desires, and fears.
Bonnie works with individuals and couples by helping them become curious about the way they interact with others at home, work, school and amongst friends. She pays close attention each patient's internal belief systems about the self and the world, pointing out where some of those belief systems may be flawed or harsh and therefore limiting development. She helps her patients look closely at the things they find themselves doing them over and over again, with disappointing results, and helps to develop new ways of seeing the self, others and the world that are more effective.
Reaching out for help can be terrifying and Bonnie commends those who are able to take this courageous step.
If you're concerned about the therapy process and are struggling to get started, that is totally normal.
  • It can feel like a failure to need to reach out for help
  • You might feel that you need to know where or how to start
  • It can be difficult to face the amount of change that is needed
  • Therapy can bring up fear and grief
  • It can be uncomfortable to prioritize yourself over others

These are all things that Bonnie will help you work through at a pace that is manageable for you. Change doesn't happen overnight, nor does it happen alone.  Bonnie will help make the process of change more tolerable and less lonely
For some people, therapy is the necessary step to getting to the life they want to live. For others, therapy is not just about "getting back to normal." Those who choose to go, simply want to live a more vibrant life.
The strongest members of the community will always be those who have put in the work on themselves.  Therapy offers an opportunity to improve your level of fulfillment with life.
