Stress is being unable to adequately handle a situation that goes beyond our ability to cope. Stress is normal given an entirely new situation we are faced with such as a new job, etc. This usually requires learning some new coping skills. However, anxiety is a sustained feeling of unease that in its extreme can be experienced as panic or the inability to calm oneself. Often I have found that anxiety that has been sustained for a long time is generally connected to trauma and is best healed by working with the body.
