I empower people to change their life from feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, unmotivated, or simply lost with where they are or where they are going. Some are in that space due to a loss, unexpected transition or abuse. Others don’t know why they feel that way. Regardless of how they got there, these feelings can feel impossible to see through. Having overcome difficult seasons in my own life, I have been there. I hold a safe space, without judgement, and with compassion to assist clients in achieving results.

Assessment tools can be very helpful in making informed career choices and developing a personalized career path but are best utilized along with an experienced counsellor. Psychotherapeutic tools such as EFT and Mindfulness Based approaches can provide depths of understanding one's self.

In career counselling, I assist individuals with exploration, change, and development. I help people explore their values, personality characteristics, and strengths. I assist in the transition from school to a career, a change in their current career, or the transition from their career to retirement. I also help people work through career-related struggles and challenges such as stress/burnout, confidence/assertiveness, and work/life balance.

I help clients with addictive behaviours or substance use that is interfering with their ability to achieve a fulfilling career. Through collaborative conversations, clients gain a sense of purpose and direction, overcoming barriers to making meaningful progress in their professional life. Gaining a sense of control over one's life allows for increased confidence and self-esteem. I help clients build the motivation necessary to take steps toward a future filled with passion, thriving, and mental resilliance.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I enjoyed a long and successful career where I specialized in staffing, resource management, and business operations. I am also a fully trained career and life coach, where I work with clients to help them strive for and achieve their personal and professional goals. In therapy, I work with clients on all aspects of their career including: dealing with difficult coworkers, managing work/life balance, pursuing advances in their careers, exploring new careers, job transition and job loss.

I facilitate career exploration, planning, transition, retirement planning, and career development. Midlife career transition is also an area of specialization. Career decision-making is an in-depth process involving existing skills and strengths, career goals, and mapping career steps. Consideration of career renewal calls for in-depth self-discovery.

It is one thing to embark on a new career path, and a whole other to find the sweet spot of purpose, contribution, vitality and practical stability that leads to a really fulfilling vocation. The latter requires the courage to allow, shape and stay with a vision and the skills to navigate the inevitable peaks and valleys in confidence that are natural to the process. It is necessary to develop the ability to structure your own time toward your goal, maintaining the stability necessary to take new opportunities and creative risks.
