Psychotherapy with me is active, respectful, and grounded in practical outcomes. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are navigating anxiety, disconnection, emotional tension, or stuck relational dynamics. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or unsure what’s wrong, we’ll identify the patterns behind it and build a path forward. My approach combines reflection with structure—so therapy isn’t just a place to talk, but a space to shift. Sessions are tailored to your goals, your pace, and the kind of clarity you're ready to create.

Psychotherapy leads to in-depth understanding about ourselves. This understanding is prerequisite to engaging intimately with others and having conscious control over our needs are reactions. The therapeutic relationship established is the context where psychological change is possible. Psychotherapy is appropriate for both long-tern and short-term healing. Psychotherapy usually means longer more in depth treatment of issues. There is a an understanding that there is value in seeing a therapist on a regular basis as it give time for trust to develop and also allows the client the time to explore more deeply. It is also a recognition that somethings take longer to treat. One can meet weekly or bi-weekly or however frequently is appropriate. The practice of psychotherapy takes more skill and experience and usually means the therapist has had their own psychotherapy.

Psychotherapy focuses on your relationship with yourself. Our most common problems have to do with inner conflict and with being unconscious of what is happening within ourselves. Through psychotherapy you will become aware of how the inner self signals the presence of these problems. Being aware of what is happening within us gives us the basis for making effective choices, relating in genuine ways to others and making positive and powerful choices in our daily lives.

Psychotherapy is a fancy work that simply means we are going to examine your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours to help you figure out how to do things differently in life. We are going to look most closely at the areas that are being the hardest to manage. For many people, this can show up in negative thoughts or intense feelings or concerning behaviours. We will address these areas to help you move towards the transformation that you seek.

I approach therapy knowing that it is often very difficult to openly express yourself to someone you don't know, and it's a great investment of your time and finances. My approach is to help you as efficiently and effectively as possible. I want to know what YOU want for you life, and I'll help you move towards that! If you want practical steps, I can offer that. If you just want to process some thoughts and emotions, even deeper questions, I can certainly be there guiding you through that as well!

What Is Accelerated Resolution Therapy? Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a relatively new form of therapy with roots in existing evidence-based therapies but shown to achieve benefits much more rapidly (usually within 3-5 sessions). ART is a combination of bilateral stimulation, prolonged exposure and visualizations. ART looks at processing negative psychological symptoms within the body and the brain. ART has shown to offer improvements to clients’ symptoms within 1 or 2 sessions. While initially a trauma therapy, ART appears to be beneficial for several psychological concerns. More detailed information on this approach can be found here.

Patterns of self-sabotaging behavioural, disorganized thinking and overwhelming emotion make life very difficult. How can we move forward when our bodies seem to betray us and we just need a break from the buzzing anxiety or the numbing of depression? What you may not know is all these symptoms are the imprint of our unfinished business, stuck in the body and just begging to be seen, cared for and accepted. Working with me means looking with curiosity, compassion and an educated-eye at how old wounds of betrayal, abandonment and rejection show up to block living your best life. You are not alone and there is hope.

Psychotherapy can help when an individual feels life is awfully difficult. Moreover, psychotherapy can also make a straight life even better . Psychotherapy is suggested whenever a person is grappling with problems in life for example relationship issues, anxiety, anger or other mental health concerns, and these issues are creating the individual lots of hurt or upset for longer than a week. There may be exceptions to this common rule, but for the most of the cases, there is no harm in going into psychotherapy even if someone is not entirely confident that it would benefit from the counseling. I have vast experience working with marginalized and diverse ethnic, racial backgrounds people. My area of expertise includes Stress, Anger, depression,...(view profile to read more)
