Being a trained Life Coach, I help clients identify their dreams, bent and natural gifts, so they can build careers which utilize their skill set. From there, I help them set SMART goals – i.e. Simple, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Time-focused – broken down into smaller goals, so they never get discouraged, plus they get to witness and celebrate their progress every step of the way. I believe in walking alongside the client in their journey to complete what they set out to do, tackling obstacles as they come – shyness, communication issues, confidence, etc. – so nothing will stop them!

Your career can be fulfilling - you need to decide to make it so. We will uncover what your career goals are, whether that is in your current work life or something different. We will consider many aspects including your inner desires, your short and long term goals, and we will assess your strengths and interests. From there, we you will work on exercises and specific action plans to uncover if your interests are truly that. Step-by-step we will work toward uncovering a more fulfilling career.

In our Career Coaching practice, we have found these 3 methods to be the most powerful when it comes to helping you discover your career roadmap - the right major, right talents or career. 1. Jackson Vocational Interest Survey (JVIS) is the "Career Roadmap" which will help you determine the best career fit. 2. CareerPlanner Personality Test (CPPT) is the "Personality Blueprint" which will highlight your talents, skills, strengths, weaknesses, interests and how they coincide with your career roadmap. 3. Jump Start Coaching Hour (JSCH) is the "Life Coach" who will guide you in the planning and implementing of the "Career Roadmap". All you need to do is make a small investment.

Dr. Strauss offers career counseling through New Leaf Psychology Centre. In order to facilitate decision making, sessions will first assess your current skills, assets and interests. Your level of fulfillment at your current place of work, and obstacles to fulfillment will also be discussed. Potential career changes will be reviewed, with the goal of helping you come to a decision that you are comfortable with.
