I have spent my life in the study and teaching of Scriptures, and am aware of the vast variety and riches available to us in our different Christian traditions. I welcome those from any of these traditions. Together we can use counselling insights and approaches, working within the framework of traditional and emerging Christian thought and practice, as we work on understanding and resolving the various issues and concerns you bring into counselling.

I am trained in Spiritual Direction as well as Clinical counselling. Conversations about Christianity and the role of God are an important part of my work with clients who are seeking Christian counselling. I welcome your thoughts and issues about how to see the opportunity for growth in faith, or how God maybe found in the process through His Word, or how to develop a deeper relationship with God. As a spiritual person and Minister, I work with those who are interested in exploring a non-denominational spiritual dimension to healing. Spiritual wellness is an important part of full mind and body wellness. Though some people might relate spirituality to religion, the truth is that it isn’t necessary to be religious to connect with your spiritual self. Spirituality can be defined in many ways, but a simple definition of spirituality is a sense of connection to something greater than the self.

Due to various challenges that I experienced as a child I often felt I had the weight of the world on my shoulder. Therefore as a teenager and most of my childhood I suffered with depression. My experiences however also revealed my life’s purpose and incited the desire to support others ex-periencing their own challenges. It was only through the support of key people in my life and the grace of God that changed my outlook on life. Your relationship with your therapist is KEY to your success and therefore it would be my privilege to support you on your journey.

As a Christian I believe that deep inner transformation can occur as I use my counselling skills in partnership with God's healing grace in the lives of my clients. I am a licensed practitioner with the Church of Religious Science which is a Christian based, non denominational, church. The foundational doctrines in this church follow the truth of Jesus' teachings. A fundamental teaching of this perspective is that God is love, and as such, Jesus is the representation of God, or love, in human form. We all have the potential to be "Christ conscious" and just as Jesus said, we all are capable of doing even greater works than he (John 14:12). My work as a Christian counsellor is not as adherent to a particular religious dogma as most, but rather broader, less dogmatic, and more firmly seated in the actual teachings of Jesus.
