Jesus Christ is the center of my life, Eph. 1:17- 19 is the focus of my practice and prayer is the foundation for both. I am a mature, professionally trained (10 yrs. full time university) therapist with a heart to see healing. My training and experience is in both psychology (understanding the mind and emotion) and theology (one's spirit and relationship with God). I work with clergy and their families and am on Focus on the Family Pastoral Counselling and referral list and Families Canada referral list.

When counselling, I consider the whole person (e.g., the individual’s mental, emotional, physical, social, spiritual, and vocational condition) and align my counselling intervention with Christian principles and perspectives. My counselling approach is eclectic, but primarily involves client-centred, solution-focused and cognitive behavioural therapy techniques. In addition to counseling, I provide leadership support to church leaders. I help board members, pastors, and other church leaders deal with clinical and human resource problems that are beyond their level of expertise. I provide consultations, coaching and mentorship to help the leaders perform well personally and professionally.

I was born and raised in England for the first eight years of my life. My parents were a great Christian couple who had both been lifelong Sunday school teachers - they met that way! Now I have been a therapist for last 40 or so years, I can still hear particularly my mother’s words of balance, perspective and a healing spiritually based approach as to what to do next as I work with couples, individuals, adults and teenagers. While I don't use the Bible explicitly, I am well-versed in Biblical teachings and primarily regard it as humane-humanitarian wisdom literature that fosters profound care and respect for one another. All of my learning and approach methods (as discussed in the other site-fields) are compatible with Biblical teaching where positive mental health and relationship well-being are concerned. My primary professional 'job' is healing the hurts that prevent us from fulfilling our purposes in Life. Many of my clients identify Christian.
