I believe that God is the ultimate healer. He does not want us to live in bondage, but rather wants people to live life fully and abundantly. I love people and consider it a privilege to walk along side them through their struggles and empower them to become all that God created them to be. My goal is to help people overcome issues and develop strategies to reach their maximum potential through Spirit-led counselling. I provide a caring, accepting and nurturing environment in which I help people develop tools to overcome the situations they are facing now, and give them the ability to apply these tools to other situations that arise in the future.

As a Bible following Christian who was raised in a Christian family, I have my foundations based on the Biblical teachings. The world is becoming a difficult place to live and understand by the day, let alone raising children (if you do!). Being Christians does not stop you from having those doubts or thoughts that could be frowned upon in a church or family set up, if you have them- IT IS OK, therapy with me can be a safe space to process them and even finding some answers together without judgement. Our faith is an integral part of who we are and it can influence all aspects of our life. Situations and circumstances can occur that can shake our hope and question our faith. As a Christian psychotherapist, I work with both people of faith and people with no religious orientation. It is my goal to respect and honor each person and the journey they are on.

As a Christian, I greatly appreciate how faith and spirituality play a role in our daily lives. Yet God still calls us to be in the world and to experience many different aspects of human life, even things we think God could fix. Making sense of the differences between what we believe God wants and what we face daily can be distressing and lead to despair and depression. Talking about these losses with someone with a similar faith can be vital as we navigate these challenges. As a Christian therapist, I feel it always important to work with my client’s faith and value system. Since I am counseling as a person with Christian beliefs, it is not my plan to impose my values on my clients, but to help them in their journey. Since I am a Christian, my frame of reference would be led by the spirit of God. It is my hope to guide individuals towards a stronger relationship with God and with others. It is in this relationship that I believe people will reach their goals and achieve the significance that God has always meant for us to enjoy.

My approach is non denominational however faith based. It allows for us to share experiences and goal set without judgement. We will explore the impact and influence of your faith based teachings and guidelines as we explore the issues that your feeling are keeping you estranged from your faith and living life fully.

It focuses on the care of the whole person, body, soul and spirit, as it is also sometimes named "soul-care", and maintains the values taught in the Bible. The aim of Christian counselling is to help people regain a sense of hope for their life that is found in Jesus Christ. Christian counselling believes that at the core of what they do is to help others achieve a better understanding of themselves and God which is rooted in the Holy Spirit's conviction. It is through a biblical foundation that I counsel with warmth and professionalism. Often, clients are comforted in knowing that their therapist comes to the healing process with a Christian worldview, and that their therapy is based on biblical principles.

For many of us faith is not just important it is critical. As a professional therapist, I work with all kinds of faiths, with respect and honor. However I do identify and enjoy working within the context of Christianity. Over the last twenty-five years I have worked closely with believers, congregations, denominations and their leaders through individual, marriage and family issues but also issues of faith. Some times we struggle with our faith and it becomes more of a stumbling block. Other times it becomes our anchor. Having Christ as the center of history and ones life allows for resources that significantly bolster therapy.
