I appreciate that seeking help can be intimidating and many people feel that they suffer alone. People do not realize how common it is to suffer from mental health-related issues. For example, within North America, one in five adults suffer from psychological conditions, such as anxiety, depression, concerns with body image and eating, and interpersonal problems. Psychotherapy is extremely effective at treating a wide range of psychological conditions.

I provide evidence-based, cutting edge, transparent, and collaborative treatment to ensure the quality of care. My approach to psychotherapy incorporates cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I create a non-judgmental and supportive environment where clients can gradually develop more understanding of effective ways to deal with overwhelming and difficult emotions, the role of thoughts in contributing to distress, and strategies to build and cultivate relationships.

I have worked in outpatient, inpatient, residential, private practice, university, and forensic settings. I specialize in treating issues, such as
• depression
• stress
• anxiety, including anxiety disorders
• concerns with body-image, weight, and eating
• relationship or interpersonal problems
• overwhelming emotions
• high risk or dangerous behaviors, such as self-harm
• adjustment to life transitions, such as immigration
• bipolar and psychotic disorders
• alcohol and substance abuse

What to expect when working with me? The initial session typically includes an in-depth conversation to understand your reason for seeking help and to get to know you, including your background, relationships, values, and goals. Together, we will develop an individualized treatment plan based on your specific needs. I also use different clinical measures suited to each client's situation to understand the severity of psychological symptoms and to hone treatment to best help each individual person. My approach is collaborative, flexible, and goal-oriented.
