People continually overcome difficult experiences in life and are able to accomplish more than they can imagine. There are times where we find ourselves in challenging situations and experiencing hardships that we never expected. It might be a relationship conflict, unexpected anxiety, the loss of someone we love, or a traumatic event. We all experience difficulties in our lives that leave us feeling confused and overwhelmed, but I believe that each person is capable of moving forward and producing growth and transformation in their life.

I will journey alongside you through the highs and lows as you work through challenges and take new and exciting steps toward change. My approach to counselling does not involve telling you what to do but is rather about partnering with you to discover and bring about the growth and new direction you long for. You can expect genuineness, compassion, empathy, and laughter as I strive to create a safe and comfortable space where you can share your stories of both pain and joy and move forward in creating new stories that align with your values and hopes in life.

I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of the Fraser Valley and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC and a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the BCCSW. My approach to therapy involves the use of Narrative Therapy while also integrating Solution-Focused Therapy, Feminist Therapy, as well as self-compassion and mindfulness practices. My areas of specialization include:
-Trauma
-Depression
-Anxiety
-Substance Use Issues
-Life Transitions
-Grief and Loss
-Disordered Eating
-Body Image and Self Esteem
-Couple Therapy

I believe that each person is unique and comes with different hurts, experiences, needs, and dreams. Holding this belief means that I won’t take a “cookie cutter” approach to working with you. I will work with you to ensure that your needs are met and will continually adjust my approach as needed so that it fits for you and is moving you in the direction that you hope for. Together we will create and move toward the goals that you set for yourself.

The populations that I work with include: youth, adults, and couples. I am also an Approved Provider for the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) and have done work with clients through ICBC. In addition to this, many extended health benefits or Employee Assistance programs reimburse counselling services with a RCC or RSW.
