Psychotherapy is a broader term to describe a number of treatment methods which can be used to help individuals with their mental health. Some of the treatments I utilize are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based (MCBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Culturally sensitive, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Narrative, Strength based, and Trauma Focused. The most common ailments that clients see me for are depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, abuse and self-esteem issues. Through my academic training and personal experience, I bring my clients a personal understanding of many of these issues.

James Hillman once said, "We've had a hundred years of psychotherapy and the world is getting worse." While there are many occasions where the validation and listening endemic to psychotherapy makes sense, there are times where we over assume that "feeling better" and "changing behavior" are the same. Grey Matters International, Inc. goes after the forgotten brain laws to behavior change that therapists miss when processing hours and hours of dialogues with people. Utilizing a cutting edge technology to facilitate the emotional process of change, we can make the therapy process way more effective, faster, and with less money spent. Psychotherapy is an approach to treating mental health issues by talking with a psychotherapist or another mental health provider. It is also known as talk therapy, counseling, psychosocial therapy, or therapy. In psychotherapy, we engage in a "conversation" exploring your emotions and how they impact your ability to function. We also identify how emotions, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors are connected and how to use them to develop better coping skills to manage your life and regain control over your life. Psychotherapy can help you feel more accomplished and well-rounded.

My approach to psychotherapy integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, and Somatic Experiencing to develop a deep connection between mind and body. I emphasize the importance of tuning into how the body experiences emotions and life events, recognizing that bodily sensations are key indicators of our emotional states. By addressing and accepting these emotions, people can open new pathways for handling life’s challenges. This method encourages not just coping, but thriving through a holistic understanding and acceptance of one’s feelings, leading to innovative solutions and healthier approaches to life's difficulties.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative journey of self-discovery and healing, where an individual is guided through the depth of their emotions, thoughts, and patterns of behaviors. Through a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities, psychotherapy untangles the blockage of past traumas, challenging distorted beliefs, and fosters awareness in the face of adversity. It is a transformative process that empowers an individual to rewrite or rethink their narratives, cultivate self-awareness, and forge healthier relationships with themselves and others. In psychotherapy, wounds are acknowledged, vulnerabilities are embraced, and growth flourishes, illuminating a path of wholeness and wellness.

Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing. Problems helped by psychotherapy include difficulties in coping with daily life; the impact of trauma, medical illness or loss, like the death of a loved one; and specific mental disorders, like depression or anxiety. There are several different types of psychotherapy and some types may work better with certain problems or issues. Psychotherapy may be used in combination with medication or other therapies.

In life, we go through experiences that are very hard to talk about. We may not fully understand what happened to us or how to deal with it, or even express it. Therapy is a place to sort it out. It’s a space to increase understanding and grow skills and strength. It’s also an opportunity to make a connection to another human being and, through it, begin healing from the wounds that life has given us. I would like to be here for you on this inner journey and support you as you recover. I have dedicated my life to my own journey and helping others as well over the past 16 years. I encourage you to reach out and unburden yourself by sharing your story with someone who understands.
