I understand that life can get busy, complicated, and filled with commitments. Sometimes you can feel off track, in a rut, and without a clear path forward. And even though you want to discuss these feelings and challenges with someone, it can be daunting to find a safe place to open up and talk about your thoughts, feelings, and explore your wellbeing. If you are here, reading this profile, looking for support, you are stronger than you know. Your life’s journey, your personal experiences, and the challenges you have faced are important. I truly believe the connection between a therapist and a client is essential to the success and positive growth and healing that takes place. I promise to be open, honest, present, and work alongside you to tackle whatever is causing you pain, distress, or concern.
I have been working with families and individuals in the Windsor-Essex area for over a decade. I am a licenced registered social worker and have worked with individuals and families facing many different life challenges and barriers in a variety of community settings. I provide support and therapeutic tools for many different obstacles, including mental health, grief, life transition, depression, self-esteem, trauma, and relationship conflict. I have experience supporting those with medical and chronic health concerns, as well as supporting family members who have a loved one battling addiction. I have enhanced training in Trauma counselling and extensive experience advocating for and supporting Survivors of Human Trafficking who have been exploited either through forced labour or within the sex trade.
Within the practice areas listed above, I work with anyone over the age of 18 all the way up to seniors. I believe in the counselling process, and that you are your own greatest resource. I want to be a part of developing tools and strategies to help reach your wellness goals. You matter and you deserve to feel heard and validated.
As each client is unique, so too is the approach I take in my counselling practice. I use an integrated therapeutic approach, drawing from Cognitive behaviour therapy, Acceptance and commitment therapy or ACT, and a strength-based approach. Self-determination and a client-centered approach will guide our work together to develop a realistic and tangible plan for your healing and wellbeing.
If you have any questions, I do encourage you to reach out. I offer free consultations, where we will have a virtual meeting to see if I might be the right therapeutic support for you in this healing journey.
