I do not believe in "anger management". Instead, I believe in being in control of your emotions - including anger. My clients discover how to be in control of their feelings of anger or rage - instead of the anger or rage controlling them. My clients discover how they can feel anger, but then choose more effective and productive ways of expressing themselves - in ways that no longer lead to regret or hurt - but rather in ways they feel proud and good about.

Anger is a normal emotion that can lead to negative outcomes in your life and relationships is not effectively managed. Through therapeutic support, I help clients recognize the underlying roots of anger and provide practical tools and coping strategies to feel more in control over your thoughts, feelings and emotions using cognitive behavioral therapy and regulation management. Anger is only the "tip of the iceburg." Talking with a professional therapist will help give you insight into what is really at the core of your anger. Many do not realize that anger is actually a "mask" for many other emotions. Anger can also be "stored up" through a person's lifetime. Once you admit you are angry, then the journey begins to find out what, why, who and how. Becoming aware of the life events either in your past, or currently that you might be struggling with is the beginning of emotional freedom. We are not meant to spend our lives angry. Discovering more about yourself, your emotions, and anger will be the beginning of a journey of freedom from emotional bondage.

Through use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I work with my client to identify and reduce negative thought patterns and thought triggers that lead to aggressive behaviors. I take a direct yet compassionate approach with my clients. I will assign homework assignments for my client to use outside of therapy to help them build coping skills to calm their emotional responses.
