Anger is not only bad for relationships, it's bad for your health. There's an increasingly strong link between anger and high blood pressure and increased risk of heart attack. In working with you to deal with anger, I use two of the most effective methods used in therapy for dealing with anger. Relaxation techniques help you "chill out" when your starting to get agitated. You'll learn ways to literally release the anger when you're starting to feel it. And we will use CBT which helps you understand how your thinking affects the way you feel. Instead of regretting later that you may overreacted, you learn how to not be bothered by things.

Anger is a primary emotion and as such it is vital for our psychological health. A common difficulty is differentiating between the experience of anger and the expression of anger. I often see individuals for whom the expression of their anger gets them into difficult situations. Therapy can be helpful to explore the difficulties associated with both the experience of anger and the appropriate expression of anger.

I help you identify and express emotions in a way that will help you to overcome anger. I also guide you through anger exercises to purge anger and reach a healthy destination where you can forgive those who have done wrong to you.

Being angry is not necessarily a bad thing. It’s when anger escalates to the point that it has a negative effect on us and the people around us that it becomes detrimental to ourselves and our relationships. When you feel out of control, when you become abusive, feelings of shame, regret, and guilt; that is when it is time to seek help for anger management. Therapeutic process will consist of helping you to identify the root cause of your anger. It could be caused by current factors or a past family history. Sometime people are not aware of what or why they are so anger. My work with you will consist of helping you identify the triggers. You will also become aware of the emotions or feeling prior....

Feeling bad about a negative situation is normal. It is a part of human experience. Anger is a powerful emotion that can have positive or negative effects on you. Angry behaviour becomes a problem when a victim is controlled by such behaviour. Every anger behaviour has triggers. Anger can be triggered by internal or external factors. When anger is left untreated, it can become habitual. The outcome could be devastating and destructive to both the victim and people associate with an angry person. The good news is that anger can be treated. To deal with the patterns of anger, you need professional therapy to overcome. I am happy to provide effective therapy to deal with your anger.

For some, impulse control may be extremely difficult, seemingly unreachable. There is a solution however, which I have found to be very effective in therapy. I like to first provide my client with the tools to control the anger outburst by removing him/herself from the situation. This is extremely important because in that stage of flooded emotion, the person cannot think logically or rationally. No one can. Secondly, and most importantly, underneath the anger lies many other emotions, and in most cases, the source emotion is fear. I help my clients peel back these layers and identify all the emotions that are attached to the anger; be it guilt, sadness, insecurities, shame, or fear.

Anger, while often misunderstood or misguided, is a call to action-whether it's to set boundaries, advocate for change, or discover our true voice. I work with clients to recognize their experience of anger and how it plays out in their thoughts, feelings, and body sensations-inviting a choice of response when it arises and giving a more effective voice to the unspoken needs and emotions fueling from beneath.

Anger management counseling can help to identify stressors and learn the steps to stay calm in the face of anger. The goal is to handle tense situations in more constructive and positive ways by reducing the emotional and physical arousal that anger can cause. It will provide the tools to take back your life and resolve the triggers that result in unplanned anger reactions.

In Anger Management therapy, my premise is that "no one can make me do what I choose to do when I am angry". In other words, "no one can make me angry". My approach is cognitive, focusing on one's thinking which leads us to our negative behavior when we are angry. It is important for the client to understand that anger is a normal emotion but the behavior can be destructive.
