Career counseling is one of my favorite areas of therapy (and coaching). Choosing a career or making a career change can be incredibly confusing and frustrating when you don't know where to start, and it's easy to get lost in the details. There are so many factors that go into a big decision like this! As a later-in-life career changer I can relate. As a master's level Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) I have access to different personality assessments and strengths inventories that can be a solid starting point for deciding on new, second or third career. Another tool to help you move in the right direction is identifying your values - what you value in life and in a career.

If you have done the MBTI Step II inventory propery, then we can use the result to explore what kind of career may best suit your personality preference. Sometimes, when we are working in a career which does not match our personality preference, we may find that it is difficult to handle the work or the working environment. It may create stress, anxiety and has a negative impact on our self esteem and our self confidence.
