Understanding the roots of your anger can go a long way to empowering you to respond in ways that best suit the situation, leaving you feeling satisfied and content, rather than reacting in ways that feel the most relieving in that moment but leave you regretting your behavior, long after the event. I can help you learn to express your feelings more appropriately and take back the power that anger has had over you in the past.

Anger is rarely the problem itself; it is often a signal that something deeper needs attention. Whether your anger feels explosive, difficult to control, or quietly builds into resentment, therapy can help you better understand what is driving these emotional reactions. Together, we'll explore the underlying thoughts, emotions, experiences, and relationship patterns contributing to your anger while developing healthier ways to express your needs, regulate emotions, and respond to conflict. The goal isn't to eliminate anger but to help you use it in ways that strengthen your relationships, decision-making, and overall well-being.

Anger is a completely normal, often healthy human emotion. But if it gets beyond your control, it can be very destructive in your work and interpersonal relationships and can drastically devastate the quality of your life. Fortunately, anger can be 'managed' which is very different than 'suppressing' it. Unexpressed anger leads to a host of other problems including high blood pressure. However, when we learn how to 'manage' our anger, we can learn to diminish both the emotional feelings and the physiological arousal that anger causes. We can learn to avoid triggers and develop strategies. We can learn how to problem solve, change our thinking and relax our bodies.

Anger has a lot to do with repressed fear. If we don't allow fear to be released we tend to take our anger out on the people closest to us. Certain situations will trigger us if we don't know how to control our anger if we aren't dealing with underlying issues. Often if we are not consciously working on dealing with managing our anger it doesn't just go away by itself. Simply having someone to talk to and listen to us helps alleviate a lot of our understanding about why we are angry. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a very beneficial modality to consciously put anger in check. Having a safe environment to share your thoughts and let go of your feelings is another way to release anger.

Anger is often misunderstood, but it is an important emotion that carries information about our needs, boundaries, and unmet expectations. In my counseling work, I help clients understand their anger rather than suppress or fear it. Together, we explore what is happening underneath the anger, including hurt, disappointment, or stress. Using a trauma-informed, Gestalt and somatic approach, I support clients in becoming more aware of their triggers, body sensations, and automatic reactions. Clients learn how to pause, regulate their nervous system, and express anger in healthier and more constructive ways. Through this process, they often develop stronger boundaries, clearer communication, and

Anger is a common, I'd say necessary function, for it helps us right wrongs, & protect ourselves and others. Like the saying goes, "Good fences make good neighbours", and anger is the energy to make such fences. Sometimes though, anger can seem out of control, or inapropriate. I help you to understand your anger, and to use it constructively for bettering your life, and the lives of others.

Grey Matters International and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D approaches issues of anger management in a very humane yet fresh perspective. You see, anger is a normal emotion but it is the valence (intensity) as well as the coupling choice of what one does with this that is the problem. Telling someone to "not" do it or modifying behavior with a trite psychological plan that only breeds a compliant response is not the way to change anger. Brainwave optimization is a new cutting edge technology that allows one to rewire circuitry responsible for reactivity driving the anger. Anger is a common emotion that can come easy to us and can feel quite powerful. Our anger can often help us identify when something doesn’t sit right with us, when we feel like our needs are not being met, or like situations pose some level of injustice towards us. However, it is what we do with this anger that can make all the difference in how we cope, experience, and navigate situations. As a therapist, I will never tell you how to express your anger, but rather I will empower you to manage it in a way that fits best for you and your life. Connect with me today for a free consultation to see if we are a good fit.

Anger is a valid emotion—but when it starts to harm relationships or disrupt daily life, it’s time to get curious, not ashamed. We work with you to understand the deeper feelings underneath the anger—like hurt, fear, or betrayal—and help you build healthier ways to express and regulate those emotions. Therapy gives you space to pause, reflect, and respond instead of react. Our goal is to help you gain control without losing your voice.

Anger is often a signal that something important needs attention. It may arise from stress, unresolved experiences, feeling unheard, or emotional overwhelm. Rather than simply learning to suppress anger, I work collaboratively with clients to understand what is happening beneath the surface. Together, we'll develop healthier ways to express emotions, improve emotional regulation, strengthen communication, and respond to difficult situations with greater awareness and confidence. My goal is to help you feel more in control while creating lasting, meaningful change in your relationships and daily life.
