Have you been shutting down or having angry outbursts more often? Do you feel stuck or lost during such moments? It seems like you have tried everything, but you still feel stuck and your worries seem to be getting worse. I understand that it can feel scary to reach out to a counsellor. You want to make sure that the person you talk to has the right expertise and is a good fit for you.
In your counselling sessions, you will have a safe and non-judgemental space to share your pain and concerns. You will get the support you have been needing to navigate the deeper parts of yourself, heal from emotional wounds, and enhance your coping capacity. You will develop new strategies that will help you during this difficult time.
In order to accommodate your work schedule, I am flexible in offering day, evening, or weekend appointments. Together, we’ll create a plan to help you feel better. To make counselling more accessible, I offer a sliding scale to accommodate clients that face financial barriers. Areas of Focus
When we experience intense levels of fear, we may begin to ruminate (overthink) and/or experience panic symptoms such as breathing difficulties. In our sessions, you will have an opportunity to tune into your fears and manage panic symptoms.
A deep sense of sadness can leave us paralyzed, feeling apathetic and emotionally exhausted. In our sessions, you will get a chance to contextualize your concerns, reframe your thinking, and create a plan to effectively manage symptoms of depression.
In vulnerable moments, we reach out to our partners for support. When we don’t feel heard, we feel distressed and either pursue or withdraw from our partners. In our sessions, partners will learn to tune-in to each others’ needs and foster a sense of connection.
We are all hardwired for connection. Children actively seek out their parent’s attention to connect with them. In our sessions, you will learn to tune-in to your child's emotional state, address behavioural concerns, and repair after moments of rupture.
Emotionally triggering moments can lead us to desperately seek out relief. In our sessions, we will create a plan to incorporate healthy coping strategies, manage underlying stressors, and heal from past emotional wounds.
