About me: I am a Registered Social Worker and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers. I have a Masters of Social Work Degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, as well as a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Development Studies both from the University of Waterloo. I am committed to ongoing education and regularly read research articles, books and attend professional development workshops to build upon my knowledge and skills.
I have dedicated the past 12 years of my life to the social work praxis and have worked in the public sector for the last 9 years providing services to people of all ages who are struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, interpersonal violence, grief/loss.
I have a passion for working with young people, specifically adolescents. I enjoy their zest for life, raw emotions and honesty.
I am a warm spirited person who truly listens to and respects my clients. I welcome clients of diverse ages, cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations. I maintain a counselling relationship in which clients feel heard, supported and empowered to work towards positive change. During sessions together we will find hope, strength, and resilience and provide you with the tools you need to live life without being encumbered by your struggles.
In my personal life I enjoy connecting with loved ones, time in nature, yoga, running and exploring new places.
What do sessions look like? I offer FREE 15 minute meet and greet. This will take place in my office. During the initial consultation we will discuss your needs and expectations as well as an overview of the services I provide. A typical session is 60 minutes in length. It is important to me that you are receiving the help and care you require. I welcome your feedback and suggestions. I am open to meeting in the office or taking our sessions outdoors to the nearby park for a walk. What I most want you to know is that I am flexible in my approach and want you to feel safe and comfortable when meeting with me.
What to expect when you come to my office: 55 Delhi St in Guelph is home to Two Rivers Health. I have chosen to work here because I believe in the mind/body connection and a holistic approach to health and wellness. Our office is professional, inviting and confidential. My office has been decorated with calming colours, pictures and comfortable furniture.
