After following my passion for working with, and supporting others on their life journeys, I decided to return to school and am now a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I received my Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Prior to obtaining my degree in Social Work, I volunteered for 3 years with a local CBT/Mindfulness group, supporting teens aged 13-18 who were struggling with mental health issues. I also volunteered on my local community Distress line for 2 years, and became a mentor for new volunteers. I have had past experience in working within the Hospice environment, and with a local mental health not-for-profit agency.

Drawing from my own life experiences, I've pursued training and education around specialized skills in working with clients who have experienced the death of someone close to them, and those facing challenges with understanding the dying process, offering well-informed mental health and grief support to clients of all ages.

In addition, I have supported clients addressing challenges around acquired brain injury, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, palliative caregiving, self-esteem and self-confidence, and trauma. My experiences working with clients have been with individuals, couples, adolescents and families.

Using a wholistic, and eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches drawing on elements of CBT, Mindfulness, Narrative, and Solution-Focused therapies, I strive to provide a client-centred and collaborative therapeutic space. As part of my approaches to therapy, I have received specialized training in Narrative therapy, death and dying, grief support for children, and suicide bereavement.

The therapy experience with me includes the benefits of having a non-judgemental and confidential space where you will have an opportunity to have a compassionate conversation looking at multiple perspectives and strategies for: improving communication, managing anxiety and depression, and improving your self-confidence.

My fee for sessions is $130.00 per hour. Longer sessions are billed at $65.00 per half hour (or part thereof). Session invoices can be submitted to benefit insurance plans which cover psychotherapy by a Registered Social Worker. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to answer any questions regarding the therapy process prior to booking your first appointment. Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis. Please contact me directly to discuss availability.

My office is located along major bus routes in an accessible building, with ample free parking.
